Beth Shockey graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in writing. In 2017, she received her J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and was admitted to practice law.

While in law school, Beth was a member of the Journal for Law and Health. In May 2018, she joined the Summit Legal Defenders office and was assigned to the municipal division, where she represented adults charged with misdemeanors.

Beth works in the juvenile division, representing juveniles charged with misdemeanors and felonies.
