Joe is an experienced appellate advocate in Ohio’s district courts of appeals and in the Supreme Court of Ohio. A native Clevelander and a long-time bartender, Joe holds an undergraduate and a master’s degree from Cleveland State University and a law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (magna cum laude, 2020). After law school, he clerked for Justice Rebecca Dallet of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin before returning to Cleveland and entering private practice, where he maintained an active pro bono criminal-appellate practice. Joe is an adjunct professor at CWRU School of Law, where he teaches appellate practice and coaches the moot-court and mock-trial teams. He joined the Summit Legal Defenders in September 2024.
