Mike graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He received his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in May 2022 and was admitted to practice that same year.

During his time at Kent State, Mike interned at a lobbying firm in Columbus, Ohio and at the Civil Rights Commission Akron office.

While in law school, Mike was a member of the Akron Law Review for two years. Additionally, Mike was a law clerk for the International Institute of Akron, where he assisted attorney’s with providing legal services to immigrants throughout Northeast Ohio. Mike then came to the Summit Legal Defenders office as a certified legal intern in May 2021 until October 2021. Mike then went on to clerk for the Pattakos Law Firm, focusing on §1983 actions and civil litigation. After taking the bar exam, Mike returned to the Summit Legal Defenders and is Staff Attorney in our Juvenile Division, handling delinquency cases.

Mike enjoys all things Cleveland sports and spending time with his golden retriever, Layla.
