Attorney Andrew Karpinski earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from John Carroll University in 2019 and graduated from the University of Akron School of Law in the spring of 2022. During his time in law school, Andrew worked for Attorney Mary Randazzo doing domestic relations work before starting at the Summit Legal Defenders office as an intern in the Spring of 2021. In law school Andrew was an editor on the Law Review, competed on Akron Law’s trial team, served as a student ambassador, and was a fellow in the Constitutional Law Center. Andrew passed the Ohio Bar Exam in November of 2022.
After passing the bar exam, Andrew began working as a staff attorney at the Summit Legal Defenders Office. He works criminal cases at the trial court level. He has completed training in the administration of Standardized Field Sobriety tests for DUI detection and routinely uses that knowledge to defend OVI cases. Andrew attended the Ohio Public Defender trial school in August of 2023. Andrew is currently in the Gideon’s Promise CORE 101 program, spending additional time focusing on developing skills to become a better public defender. Also, Andrew is a volunteer at the University of Akron School of Law VALID clinic.
In his free time Andrew enjoys baseball, board games, hiking and camping, and spending time with his family, friends, and dog.
