Sometimes, trial courts get it wrong. When that happens, a well-argued appeal can be what’s needed to set the record straight. Andy’s practice focuses on appellate, postconviction, objections, and motions practice in adult criminal as well as juvenile delinquency and dependency matters. Beyond his own docket, Andy works to keep our attorneys apprised of recent legal developments, and interfaces with each of the office’s divisions to systematically improve criminal justice outcomes in all the courts in which the office provides representation.

Prior to joining Summit Legal Defenders, Andy worked in public interest-side environmental law, helping ordinary people navigate complex environmental legal problems against bigger, richer, and more experienced industry forces. He has experience providing trial and appellate level representation across a wide variety of practice areas including criminal defense, civil litigation, and administrative law.

Andy is licensed to practice in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He has federal admissions to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, and the Western District of Pennsylvania.
