Amber Crowe joined the Summit Legal Defenders as a Managing Attorney in November of 2024. A native of Summit County, Amber attended the University of Akron where she received her bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in pre-law and a certification in conflict management. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law and became certified in litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
After obtaining her law license, Amber joined the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office where she prosecuted child abuse, neglect, and dependency cases before being promoted to the office’s felony division. Amber then went into private practice with a small Akron law firm where she focused heavily on juvenile law, family law, guardian ad litem work, and criminal defense. Prior to joining the Summit Legal Defenders, Amber also served as a Magistrate in both the Akron Municipal Court and the Summit County Juvenile Court. Currently, Amber also teaches Juvenile Law at the University of Akron School of Law.
Amber is extremely active in local organizations including the Summit County Collaboration Against Human Trafficking and the Akron Law Alumni Association’s Board of Directors. In 2021, Amber received the Greater Akron Chamber’s “30 FOR THE FUTURE AWARD” for her professional history and community service. In 2024, she was selected by ATHENA Akron as an honorary chair for women in leadership.
